Directors for the Vernon & District Community Land Trust

Randy Kolibaba, current chairman of the Vernon & District Land Trust Board, is an experienced and respected member of the RCMP. Through his many years in law enforcement, he has become clearly aware that public safety & crime are directly depended on prevailing social issues. Although dedicated to his work throughout the region, Randy has a commitment to Vernon with a grass roots understanding that safe and affordable housing is a basic requirement for a healthy community.

Greg Schroeder is a tireless community supporter and a founding member of the Community Land Trust. As a lawyer, Greg ensures that all of the legalities of the many aspects of the society and land acquisitions are in order. He also brings a tremendous passion for social issues within the community combined with a clear sense of the business side of an organization and projects. Greg has been instrumental and pro-active in many social projects in Vernon including; The United Way, Teen Junction & Vision Okanagan to name just a few. Currently a Director of Community Futures of the North Okanagan and an active Rotarian, he leads by example with his heart and his many talents.

Joe Pearson brings a wealth of knowledge to the Community Land Trust table, particularly in respect to Real Estate, Government & related social issues. As former President & CEO of Block Bros. Realty Ltd and currently working through RE/MAX in Vernon, he has been exceedingly valuable in finding & acquiring suitable land which can be developed into affordable housing. Joe also sits on the board of the City of Vernon’s Hesperia Corporation which is also mandated to develop attainable housing as well as being a Director of the British Columbia Real Estate Association.

Vic Harwood, although retired from the banking industry, is a long time contributing citizen of Vernon. Vic has a committed understanding of giving back to the community and extensive knowledge in business, banking and organizational process. He has a long association with Community Futures, O’Keefe Ranch, Vernon Rotary Club and North Okanagan Development. His expertise in real estate and financing developments is extremely valuable to the Board.


Jean Clark as co-owner of Haber Creek Timber Ltd. brings an out-lying community perspective as well as extensive business, committee, communication and bookkeeping skills. Jean has her business and resides in Enderby. She has sat on numerous social and real estate mandated committees and boards. She is a practical and intelligent board member with a keen interest in long term planning and creation of affordable integrated housing for all ages.


George (Ted) Treller, with his business Lochaven Management Consultants, is an expert in business, operational management, the non-for-profit sector and organizational design & development. He travels internationally helping public & private organizations improve their communication and bottom lines. Ted has served on boards for John Howard Society and Economic Development Association of BC. He is under the belief that the Community Land Trust has a unique and innovative approach and is a very worthwhile society deserving real community support.

Trevor Perepolkin, a financial planner with Canaccord Canada understands firsthand the need for affordable housing for the working population of the community. Trevor grew up in Vernon and has chosen the community to live and raise his own family and therefore extremely interested in long term planning with a sustainable housing inventory. Trevor is an executive member of the Vernon Curling Club, served as President of Okanagan College Student Association and is a Steering Committee Member of Connections Career Centre serving young people 18 – 29 years. He has a strong sense of community as well as marketing background.

Brad Marsh has keen interest in social issues in the North Okanagan, in particular, improving the quality and quantity of affordable housing. As a diverse businessman and current owner of RE/MAX offices in the North Okanagan and Shuswap, Brad brings extensive knowledge of real estate, business planning and marketing to the board. He has sat on many boards and is committed to being a contributing member to ensure the Land Trust has broad community support and is well funded.

Harvey Gee is a successful and well respected member of the Vernon business community. As former owner of Vernon Motors, he is well known and respected by the community at large and is very interested in the subject of affordable housing. Harvey brings expertise and wisdom in the areas of business management, community development, fundraising and public relations. He was heavily involved with raising the necessary awareness and funds for the Vernon Transition House and The People Place. Harvey’s long time commitment to the Vernon Rotary Club and the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan portrays his strong sense of community.

Directors are elected yearly by the Active Members at the Annual General Meeting of the Land Trust. New Directors are recruited through a comprehensive process based on the skills required for the Board. All Directors serve on a volunteer basis. At this time, a founding Board of Directors has been recruited however the society welcomes volunteers who can assist in the goal of increasing the stock of attainable housing in our communities.
